Please note the cable is about 28" long and the cable will not be long enough for the chopper or the brand new OCC Stingray bicycle. This is basically an exact reproduction of a unit I had as a kid in the 70s. The only drawback is as has been written there are no instructions. The talk is to effect the instructions that folks have posted on amazon for this item. The tricky part is the sending unit has a cap on it that can be settled on the other side. This is to allow for placement on the right or left. The acceptable placement is on the right. If you place on the left you take off the cap and use the other side. This unit works great on an old schwinn. You can not beat the price
