Slip Sliding Away : Isokinetics Inc. Brand Deluxe Pedal Exerciser - Black - With Anti-Slip Strips - Fully Assembled
I gave this product 4 stars because for the price point I don't know that you could get anyone better. I have an mean cube w/an mean desk that hits underneath at 2'3", I'm 5'5" I've had to lower my chair to a lower than general height and keep a puny pulled back from the desk to keep my knees from hitting but I assume this is to be expected. If you're much taller than me you may have issues. While it's fairly quiet it can def. Be heard from any direct cube neighbor, or cube neighor that sits over from the open side of your cube. As long as your cube mates don't mind you should be okay as I said it's not too loud. My cube mate says it sounds like an ultra sound machine. The tension adjusts well even though other habitancy have said it doesn't. However, it's not the smoothest pedal and the harder the tension the less flat the pedaling (Wd40 didn't seem to help), so I have to keep it on a pretty low tension. In 60 min I managed to pedal 1.5 miles, so I dream the tension is pretty low right now. According to the calorie meter I've burned 49 calories. I figure if I can burn 500 - 1,000 fat per week on this thing it's worth it. Otherwise I'm just sitting on my but burning nothing. If it's raining at lunch I can probably crank it out faster and burn some extra fat since I won't be trying to work at the same time. It should have occurred to me when purchasing, but it didn't, I have a chair on wheels as I assume most cube workers do. This can make it tricky to stay pulled up to the bike. No worries though it was easy to manipulate one leg of the chair nearby one leg of the bike and that keeps me in place. I've had no issues with slipping. Ultimately if I had my drothers I'd prefer a lower profile, quieter bike with a smoother ride, but I don't know if you can expect that for the $$$ that this costs. Finally, pretty obvious, but there is a puny wire in the bike that needs to attach to the meter, the directions don't note this.
